Sifilis este considerat a fi un ulcer genital si se raspandeste prin contact direct cu o leziune in timpul contactelor orale, vaginale, sau anale, dar poate fi transmis si de la mama la fatul nenascut.

Semne si simptome:
-eruptie cutanata,frecvent localizata pe palmele si talpi, cu pete rosii si maronii,
-ulcere genitale,
-simptome asemanatoare gripei
-daca ramane netratat se transforma in sifilis tertiar
