Fracturile boltii craniene pot sa apara atat in urma unor traumatisme deschise, penetrante sau nepenetrante, dar si in caz de traumatisme inchise si au ca rezultat formarea de hematoame sau leziuni ale nervilor cranieni, formand porti de intrare pentru bacterii in lichidul cefalorahidian, rezultand meningite.

Semne si simptome:
-hemoragii
-echimoze in regiunea mastoidiana
-semne de hemotimpan,sange localizat in urechea medie.
